The Long

Reading and writing have always been Mallika’s great passions. After years in web design and managing content, she turned her hand to long fiction. In a way, she says, she has always been telling stories, or at least, that’s how she’s looked at her job, as creating stories. Through her writing, Mallika explores her fascination with what drives us, what makes us tick, and other facets of our psyche. When she’s not plotting her next dark thriller or killer reveal you can find her perusing bookstores or reading. In her down time she loves to cook and bake, and watch alpaca videos.

On Writing Suspense & Thrillers

“I realized early on that my fascination with the human psyche rests, in particular, with the dark side of the human mind. I suppose it takes one to know one but I try not to dwell on that. Where one might see a happy connection to a man innocently tucking a stray strand of hair behind a woman’s ear, I imagine something sinister-he’s trying to see if his fingers will fit around her neck when he strangles her later. Something as unassuming as a woman staring off from a café window, to me, can be a dark tale with a frightening end.” ~
